While Sheréa’s trademark intimate and calming, yet confident style has allowed her to flow seamlessly in the worlds of gospel theatre and gospel music, it is her latest entrance into spoken word that revives a talent for poetry that garnered one of her first awards. Achieving First Place in the NAACP ACT-SO Competition Regional, she read her winning poem at the NAACP Convention in Dallas, Texas to a national audience. Recently, she received a 2004 nomination as Spoken Word Artist of the year by the Southern California Gospel Announcer’s Guild, and is a 2004-2005 and 2006-2007 ASCAPlus Award recipient.
